Because of the misinformation put about by clever advertising, we are going to tell it like it is. There are many overlooked facts that you need to know if you want to be well and avoid the ‘Sickness Treadmill'.
-
The myth about disease: It appears that most people believe that illness can strike anyone at any time and there is nothing they can do about it. It has been proved that disease can only take hold when the conditions are right and most of those conditions are under your control.
-
Most doctors are trained to intervene by declaring war on germs and viruses using expensive high-tech radiation machines and drugs to vanquish the enemy. This is as futile as trying to kill all the rats in a trash-infested city like London or New York. Surely the best solution would be to remove the trash.
-
It is this backwards teaching about health and disease that creates the confusion in people’s minds. The only reason why those germs and viruses ever invade our body is because we have unwittingly created the conditions that allow them to thrive.
-
Initially, most health seekers are concerned with overcoming a specific health problem, using a quick fix remedy. However, in the long-run and as we get older, more health problems arise and become increasingly difficult to overcome by just using a ‘magic potion'. This then makes the idea of ‘alternative’ forms of healing more attractive, because they give us a much better chance of becoming and remaining healthy into old age.
-
“Energy flows where attention goes" - So if you move your attention away from the symptoms and back to caring for your whole body, then you can begin to heal your ailments naturally. This process allows you to interact and have more fun, which is the ultimate reason for doing anything.
-
We realise that this information can be distressing. Although there are no easy answers, there are solutions that will empower, not mystify the individual who sincerely wants to be well. Reliable information is the most effective tool for those seeking to improve the quality of their life.

Parasites: Although parasites are present in every living thing and do perform a necessary function in the scheme of things – all wild animals have various ways of controlling their parasite population – birds dust and preen their feathers – mammals eat herbs and clay etc.
-
Parasite infestation in our bodies can compromise our health by reducing the efficiency of our body organs, resulting in mal-nourishment and cellular damage. The toxins produced by these creatures poison the blood due to log-term infestation - but parasites can be safely eliminated from the human body. Every generation prior to modern times, has made de-worming a regular part of their lives, but partly due to our increasingly fast pace of life, this generation has become distanced from this traditional practice – see related article.

Environmental Health: Before becoming aware of the sobering health and environmental issues that affect all of us, I was striving for the ‘Consumer Dream’. I went to college, had lots of kids, slowly improved my lot in life and began to accumulate stuff. My first home was rented, then after a series of increasingly larger homes, I built my present (excessive) home.
-
Where was I going? From an economic standpoint, the thing to do was to strive for increased earnings, own your home and seek happiness through the things that economic success could bring. If only our responsibility in life were to take care of ourselves the best we can, that would be OK. But we live in a world community with finite resources, and with a responsibility to do no harm.
-
Not only are we responsible to those alive now, but also to future generations. If I knew earlier what I know now, I would not have such a large house and I would have probably chosen a different job. So, as we learn more about the impact of our choices, it can create a crisis of conscience – see Environmental Health article.

Myth# Stress induced fatigue is unavoidable in today’s hectic 24/7 lifestyle!
Find out how it is possible to regain your energy and vitality in one week, using the energy equation method!
The main obstacles between the stressed individual and the solution are: They are not aware that the physical symptoms they experience are caused by stress – they don’ t know the cause of the stress - they take medication to alleviate the symptoms, or they avoid taking remedial action because they are too busy.
Unresolved stress, often leads to poor quality sleep and unhealthy eating habits, resulting in congestion of the colon, toxaemia and allergies – possibly leading to more serious health problems if the warning signs are ignored or suppressed with medication..
-
Stress is an invitation to change something - it is information that warrants action. No one is immune to close encounters of the stressful kind, however it can be managed to avoid health damage. A stress audit and makeover will enable you to identify and manage the main stressors – see Stress Facts article

Hyperventilation: Breathing techniques have been used for thousands of years to achieve altered states of consciousness, and now doctors and scientists are rediscovering the therapeutic benefits of controlled breathing exercises. The ‘Lamas technique’ used to help women in childbirth is one of the better-known techniques. However breath therapy is only one of many on the fringe of medical practice and not always the first consideration when treating an ailment.
-
Although ailments can arise for many reasons – mental, physical, spiritual and environmental – in recent years, a Russian physician by the name of Konstantin Buteyco, discovered how to cure his own ailments with simple breathing exercises designed to slow his breathing rate. Since then it has been used to successfully heal many ailments, especially asthma.
-
It appears that due to our increasingly stressful lifestyles, we are breathing too much and mainly through our mouth, Dr Buteyco says that over breathing, also known as hyperventilation, is one of the most common causes of fatigue and poor health - and that the individuals lifestyle, habits and genetic weakness determines which ailment will manifest.
-
Restricted breathing (RB)is an antidote for relieving unwanted stress and strengthening your immunity against ill health. The basic exercise is designed to extend the length of your control pause (CP). The test for hyperventilation is to breathe out and hold your breath until you feel the need for air.
-
Are you over-breathing? Try this! Sit down and breathe normally for a few seconds, then at the end of your next out-breath, hold while timing the length of your pause. Most people can hold their breath for 15 – 25 seconds – the optimum duration is 40 seconds and the ultimate is 60 seconds.
-
The techniques will provide immediate and significant improvement for people with asthma, sleep apnoea, chronic snorers and other breathing-related conditions. The method is effective - over 90% of participants significantly reduce medications within one week – see Asthma article.

Toxic toiletries and cosmetics: The glossy images of well-scrubbed individuals hide a dangerous secret: Too many of the toiletries and cosmetics we use are carcinogenic cocktails of hazardous chemical. What could be more healthy than a refreshing body wash, a nourishing shampoo, a minty fresh toothpaste and a moisturising facial cream?
-
I realise that this information can be distressing, however there are alternatives available in some super-markets, health food shops and the Internet.
-
The skin is the largest organ of the body and the lungs are second. All organs assist the elimination of toxins, so when the skin or lungs become congested from a toxic overload, breathing becomes laboured and the skin breaks out in a rash. Your skin is a living, breathing barrier against contamination by toxins. The practice of using chemical detergent on the skin neutralises the protective acid barrier.
-
Media advertisements tell us that soaping and scrubbing exfoliating and moisturising are necessary for our health. The skin is a two-way membrane with a light covering of oil that protects us from potentially harmful substances. Detergents and exfoliates remove this protective layer, leaving us vulnerable to infections and energy loss. Spa baths however, do no harm - see Toxic Toiletries article.

The Pharmaceutical industry is slow to change, even under pressure, and will continue to use the cheapest ingredients if you let them. It was recently reported in the Irish Independent newspaper that an 11-year-old girls experiment went tragically wrong, when she died after sniffing her mother’s deodorant while playing in the bedroom.
-
It is a well-known fact that some odours can cause respiratory asphyxiation, however it is not generally known that antiperspirant deodorants contain aluminium sulphate, which can progressively poison the body’s lymphatic system and increase the risk of breast cancer.
-
Pain killers: If you're like many people who suffer with chronic pain – from arthritis, an injury, or other causes – you might be continuously taking a pain medication commonly referred to as NSAIDS (Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving drugs) a type of medication such as ibuprofen, naproxen or aspirin.
-
While these medications are effective in helping relieve chronic pain, clinical studies have shown that continuous use of certain types of prescription and over-the-counter pain medications can raise your risk for stomach ulcers, by weakening the stomach lining and allowing stomach acid to cause an ulcer.
-
You could be at greater risk for developing a stomach ulcer if you're over 60, or have a history of stomach ulcers, and you are taking ibuprofen, naproxen, or aspirin for chronic pain. Not all ulcers cause symptoms, and only your doctor can tell if you are at risk for this problem.

Toxic foods: The glossy images fed to us by the Media, hide the dangerous secret that most of our processed foods contain toxins that upset our delicately balanced metabolism. The growing and processing of food has given rise to many health scares in recent years and the public are either numbed by it or else they demand more information.
-
I realise that this information can be distressing, however there are alternatives available in some super-markets, health food shops and the Internet.
-
In this fast moving modern world we are all under pressure to consume ready-made products. However the business of providing such products is often dictated by the cost of the ingredients and very often the cheapest and nastiest ingredients are chosen. In order to keep foods from going off, they are infused with chemicals, wrapped in plastic - tinned or jarred. The most recent research findings indicate that when certain chemicals interact, carcinogenic compounds are created.
-
There are hundreds of chemicals used in food production, agriculture, and in our homes. Nobody knows how many of these seep into our bodies or what role they play in the increasing rates of degenerative diseases such as cancer and infertility - but if you want a clue, watch how an animal reacts to an aerosol spray or tobacco smoke - see Toxic Foods article.
-
As a consumer, you have the power to force change. Remember, "All truth goes through three stages. First it is ridiculed. Then it is violently opposed. Finally, it is accepted as self-evident" (Schoepenhouer) - see related article.

As a young boy, I had my share of illness (measles, tonsillitis, appendicitis and gout). Then later on I developed osteo-arthritis, chronic fatigue and sciatica. My doctor could not resolve these conditions, so I decided to investigate the alternatives. One of the many things I discovered was that the pH (acid/ alkaline) balance of my blood was over-acid, So I began to improve my diet and exercise routine.
-
I stopped buying highly processed foods because they contain a lot of sugar, fat, salt and toxic chemicals. One of the major culprits is sugar, which turns to a corrosive acid which the body try’s to neutralise by taking calcium from bones and teeth. Over time, this depletion of minerals leads to tooth decay, osteoporosis, ulcers and/ or diabetes- See The Myth of Salt – Sugar Story and the Myth of Milk articles.

Medications may ease your condition for a while, but they are not a cure and should not be relied upon in the long term. Any Holistic health recovery programme should get to the root of your problem, which may be the result of unresolved stress, toxins, allergies and/ or dehydration, that may be upsetting the digestion and absorption of vitamin and minerals – contact us for more information.
-
Heal the ROOT problem: According to Dr. Ronald Drucker, “If you suffer from chronic poor health, your choices of action are essentially limited to just two":
-
1. You may take steps to heal the problem naturally after detecting the root cause and in turn receive an array of health benefits stemming from proper digestion, assimilation and the essential fuelling of every cell, tissue and organ in your body...or...
-
2. You may follow the ‘gilded-path’ laid by the pharmaceutical industry and supported by conventional medics who would have you believe that these symptoms can only be treated with drugs to mask or hide the problem for the rest of your life. The pharmaceutical industries motto is: “A patient cured is a customer lost".
